Book Reviews

Review by Hazel Butterfield. TV & Radio Presenter
You know what, this book came at just the right time for me. Tales of adventure, positivity, calm and lessons learnt.

Short stories, inspiring and awesome for the travel lovers or those that used to be when time was more permitting! Sweet and succinct points at the end that just leave that warm and contented feeling.
We are also not set in stone, we can change our path and make mistakes, experience fear and come across the unknown. Everything we live through is a chance to learn and develop. However...
“Sometimes there is no lesson, just enjoyment.” - Lindsey Porter

"Be inspired by Lindsey's adventurous spirit, her love of yoga, and her warmth and compassion. The book would make a great present for adventurous yoga friends."

I loved reading about Lindsey's travel exploits and her journey through life. It was as though I was there at every stage of her amazing adventures. She is an example and inspiration of how to live life fully and fearlessly. There were so many life lessons learnt and loved the way each take away ended the chapter. Lindsey's writing skills are to be applauded I did not want to put the book down. I am so proud of her first book a great legacy for her children. Was so surprised and honoured to see that I got a wee mention in the acknowledgement. Keeping doing you Lindsey and being an inspiration for me and others’.

Sucked into a whirlpool…
Discovering pre-Inca tribal remains…
Breaking an ankle 5000 metres up the side of a volcano…

These are just a few of the unexpected circumstances Lindsey Porter found herself in as she travelled to some of the world’s most incredible locations.

For the first time these tales have been brought together in a collection that shares the unforeseen and often humorous outcomes, whilst revealing an insight into places that are a little off the tourist trail.

They also track her amazing life-journey from being a Senior Project Manager working in Financial Servicesto travelling to India to train as a Yoga Teacher. Now a tutor for Yoga Scotland, she has written for the Huffington Post, YOGA, OM Yoga magazines and co-founded voicesofyoga.com – yoga podcasts listened to in over 70 countries.
She is also a signatory of the Mental Health Charter for Physical Activity and Sport championing her yoga teacher community to help break down the barriers for people with mental health challenges to participate in activities such as yoga.

Come and join Lindsey on her journeys and find out why the best travel tales are often unexpected.
