Now I feel very relaxed and stretched out..It was lovely, feeling all floaty" "First time I had tried yoga and really felt the benefit of the stretches." "I thought it was great! I love that we can talk about our wobbly bits and limits freely without care Felt very comfortable and I was able to work through certain positions much easier with your tips. Xx" "Interesting to find adaptations to poses that make them them more accessible for curvy folk like me " "a really enjoyable class" |
'Thanks, I really enjoyed the class last night - I was so unprepared for how relieved and refreshed I'd feel at the end, I don't usually get that during the week! It was such a positive thing to do :) See you next week :)' Corrie
"Thanks for another great class this evening, your chanting was a great treat! Took all my concentration to do the breathing alongside everything else lol but I enjoyed it. Yvonne and I were talking about how much thought you put into the practice each week and how much you mix things up - it's much appreciated! X" Steph Toms

'I find Lindsey's yoga classes like a breathe of fresh air. She has a considerate and thoughtful style. Her approach in giving subtle adjustments where needed and intertwining pearls of wisdom from books on topics such as 'resistance' or 'change' as well as postures and breathing has given me a broader perspective on what yoga is and can be.'
Lis George, Forever Living Business Owner |
'Having never done yoga before I started Lindsey's classes about 4 months ago. I throughly enjoy her classes. No two classes are the same as Lindsey sets different themes for each class. I never feel there isn't anything I can't do as Lindsey ensures that everyone is comfortable (but challenging themselves) offering more challenging positions or modifications. I would, and have, recommended Lindsey's classes to anyone.'
Angela Cassidy, Manager, Royal Bank of Scotland |
'Lindsey's calming nature and people skills means she has the perfect qualities for a yoga teacher. Along with her amazing skills, she left me feeling completely de-stressed and relaxed at the end of every yoga session. She always has a smile on her face and made each individual in the class feel special. She is continuously improving and undertaking further development to ensure we get the best possible experience in our yoga classes. I would highly recommend everyone try's one of Lindsey's yoga sessions.'
Leona Fell, Independent Business owner |
'It was really nice to meet you yesterday and I certainly feel that I have benefitted from our 121 practice - it was definitely the most enjoyable (and challenging!) yoga session I have had to date.
I have got loads of aches and pains this morning - I'm sure that's a good sign! I've never enjoyed the relaxation at the end more as I was exhausted by that stage - it was absolute bliss. I also really enjoyed the shiatsu foot massage you gave me half way through our practice when I was starting to flag - it gave me a boost.' Alisdair Bruce, employed "I look forward to your class from the moment i have left the one i am attending. My bodily & inner strength is improving wirh each class. I see it my body & feel it in my heart! Thank you lindsey. See you on the mat!x" Anon

'As a complete yoga beginner, what I love about yoga sessions with Lindsey is the gentle pace that she uses to take us through each move. Lindsey’s words are reassuring, informative, funny and encouraging. Lindsey repeatedly reminds us that yoga is not a competition and that it’s for us to decide how far we go with any pose.
Overall the session has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and leaves you feeling amazingly refreshed and zingy. I’ve never been very keen on fitness activities or going to the gym, but I am glad I found Lindsey’s class, as it feels very different. Everyone is very real, and just themselves – probably because of the great welcome they receive from Lindsey as they arrive and the very personal attention she delivers throughout. So please don’t come along to Lindsey’s classes. If too many people come along the classes will become too big. Stay away – we found her first, she’ all ours!!' Pam Jenkinson, Director of 3ro.co.uk |
'Thoroughly enjoyed my first Yoga Session with Lindsey Porter on Monday. Some mega stretches I didn't think I could do #thisgirlcan ! Did wonders for my stress levels and I can't wait for the next class. Mega jealous of your retreat - have fun!'
Emma Hepplewhite, Director, Paddlefast.co.uk 'Thank you for tonight's class. My back feels more limber than it has for a while. Anything that makes me less stiff and sore is worth the effort.'
'I rarely 'do nothing'. I find it hard. That's why I love our last few moments of yoga practice when I get to lie on the floor, relax and take time for stillness...and for me.' Tonia Higgins |
"We recently had a yoga session at Rainbows and Brownies with Lindsey. The girls absolutely loved it! Lindsey created a fun session for the girls to experience yoga, and it showed in their focus throughout the session. The following week, the girls were showing of the poses they had learned and talked about how much fun they had during yoga! I would definitely recommend Lindsey for kids yoga sessions! Debbie, AKA Bluebell (Rainbows) and Brown Owl (Brownies)."
"The children loved the yoga Lindsey" from the Head Teacher at Broxburn Primary School where I spent a day and half last week sharing yoga magic with kids. D'arcy and I really enjoyed the class this morning Lindsey, thanks so much for having us. She spent this afternoon bouncing round the house like a wee frog and spinning around doing the elephant! 😂My first experience of yoga was fun and certainly won't be my last! I honestly enjoyed it so much, maybe different cos it was a kiddies class but you really made me feel at ease as I was a bit nervous about coming but if you don't mind a complete beginner turning up I would love to give the classes a bash. Adele Jamieson, employed We loved our Yoga session today! It's lovely to do together and Mason can't wait till Thursday!! Thanks again. Tracey O'Connell, Mercedes Benz Huge thank you Lindsey for showing us some Yoga moves tonight. Our 26 Beavers (age 6-8) and Leaders all enjoyed it. I loved how you made it straightforward by using our bodies to spell out 'Beavers', although the 'v' was tricky! The game with the dice and cards was great at holding the children's attention. I have learnt that I maybe need to work on my core muscles, the children were putting some adults to shame lol. Glad I've tried it and hope to do some more. Thanks again Annemarie Waddell, 93rd Beaver Leader "A and H loved it and have shown grandparents their moves :) x" |

Apparently she is a dedicated fan and is going to join your regular yoga classes? She cant get over the fact that, never having done yoga before, she was standing on her head! She is so enthused by the whole thing, it is wonderful."

'Lindsey is a sensitive and intuitive practitioner who understands the needs of those to whom she is giving Reiki and who she is initiating into the practice of Reiki. I completed my Reiki Level 1 with Lindsey and I particularly like her approach to the Reiki initiation as she gives an informal but thorough introduction to Reiki and has found the perfect balance between theoretical and practical instruction. I also really appreciated her openness as it allowed me to discuss what was happening in my life at the time so that I could better understand my experience during the Reiki initiation and treatment. Lindsey was also very knowledgeable and able to answer my questions while also referring me on to other resources that would enrich my understanding of Reiki and my own practice. She continued to be supportive after the intitiation and was available to answer any questions if they arose. I look forward to being intiated further into Reiki with Lindsey in the future.'

'Recently I had three weeks of radiotherapy and had no side effects. I felt well throughout and ever since. I also had Reiki from Lindsey. While I have no understanding of how Reiki works I can't help but think it must have had a positive effect and am very grateful to Lindsey.'
Frippy Fyfe, Founder of Smart Works Edinburgh Reiki I Initiation/Attunement Feedback:
I enjoyed this new experience. Thank you - today was relaxing and certainly an education. Has left me with lots to think about. Tonia Higgins, Counsellor
"I found it extremely relaxing and was definitely something I needed to do."
Anon "A feeling of peace which was so beautiful and unexpected.I have long believed in the healing power of Reiki but I didn't think it could be so powerful." Anon |
I had never even heard of Reiki before meeting Lindsey, first as a work colleague but then as close friend and my reiki master. Upon first hearing about reiki from Lindsey, I thought it sounded a bit 'odd' but decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did! Dressed down from the 'hippy' thing that I thought it to be, Lindsey explained the theory and how it works in her characteristically knowledgeable, warm, mindful and friendly way. It wasn't long until I wanted to give it a go and experience it first hand. After just a few sessions of doing just this, I started feeling the benefits, both emotionally and physically. First and foremost is so incredibly relaxing. Whilst in this state, Lindsey does her Reiki magic and senses the area, whether physical or emotional, that is in need of some extra energy and healing. [On an emotional front, reiki can bring up a few emotional skeletons but it in turn provides the mind space and energy to work these out]. For me reiki with Lindsey is relaxing, comforting, healing yet also energising at the same time. I had to try it to believe it but I am go glad that I did!

Lindsey is fantastic. She is smart, resourceful, capable, flexible and very skilled practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).
In my experience she brings herself fully to a coaching conversation, is mindful of the reality of others and is skilled in her use of language encouraging deep insight yet doing so often with a disarming and light hearted manner. The fact that she has had the courage to follow her instincts and carry out a major life transformation for herself over the last 12 months also means that she's in a position to bring the wisdom of that experience to a coaching session. She truly walks the talk. Its a rare privilege to work with her and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. Jon Crouch, Head of Delivery - Technology Target Operating Model at Royal Bank of Scotland |
I saw Lindsey for NLP, it really helped me get through a stressful anxious period. I found the whole practice fascinating and Lindsey made me feel so at ease. After just one session I felt much clearer within myself and more equipped when my feeling of anxiety arose, since having the NLP I would say I now recognise emotions and can deal with them accordingly. I would recommend anyone interested in NLP to go for it! Lindsey has a real calming way with her and made me feel I had the ability to handle my situation.
Emma Macpherson, Personal Hairdressing Owner |
The NLP sessions I had with Lindsey have been very insightful and helpful. She is very good at putting people at ease, and has always been available when I most needed it. With her professional help I managed to lift the darkness I found myself in and things have vastly improved since then.
Thank you so much Lindsey... I look forward to repeating the NLP experience with you. Flavia Tassara, Italian Diction Teacher for Opera Singers, Free-lance Translator |
I hated my relationship with chocolate - a bad habit in the evenings and never eaten mindfully. I decided the opportunity to try NLP was too good to miss. It took 15 minutes and was so straightforward. That was over two months ago and I have not had a single moment of desire. I have noticed how it dominates our supermarkets and our dietary options, but I am free of the bind. It's a terriffic place to be.
Marie Short, full-time mum and Synchronized Swimming Coach |
I trained together with Lindsey for our NLP Practitioner course and we worked together on a number of occasions. Lindsey proved herself to be a capable and skilled coach, putting me at ease, allowing me to open up and discover a number of insights and changes through the processes she coached me through. Lindsey quickly builds rapport with people, has a natural intuition and is not afraid to ask challenging questions when needed. I can highly recommend Lindsey as an NLP coach.

'Your blog is absolutely perfect. So true, honest and inspiring. Thank you for taking the time to produce.'
Emma from www.yog-ee.com Yoga Class Directory 'Thank you for writing such wonderful articles.' Ganithaa, Smart Works Edinburgh 'Thank you so much for the Yoga Prop Me Up blog. It is absolutely brilliant. You have such a lovely way of writing about yoga and your own experiences. It absolutely hits the nail on the head about the whole props dilemma. I loved it! For me the working with injuries resonated so strongly. For many years props would not have entered my practice and now I love them. They have helped me move through my back issues. For my teaching the building of confidence and blue print is a fabulous message to give to my students. This is the perfect beginner (and experienced) yogi article. You have eloquently explained what the props are, how to and why to use them - fantastic. Reached people at so many levels. Can’t thank you enough.' Emma from www.yog-ee.com Yoga Class Directory 'Thanks Lindsey. I enjoyed this article vey much. Am now going off to practice and do a bit of resilience thought :)' Ali Forsyth 'Really enjoyed your article - certainly makes me stop and think!' Sheri |
