"What to say… amazing scenery, fabulous walks and very relaxing (whilst still challenging) yoga sessions.  Beautiful and very comfortable accommodation with great food.  Lots of time to think about, or to discuss, anything going on in your life, without any obligation to share but lots of support if needed.  The perfect way to get the headspace to wind down, review and relax – if you want time out from the rat race, this is the place to come…  oh, and fantastic flapjack." Having received some testimonials in from the Wellbeing Retreat in March, its made us reflect on why people want to come on a retreat. Here's what some of our participants mentioned. Do any of these sound familiar to you?

1. I like spending time in nature and the outdoors
On retreat, we get outside every day, in some stunning scenery. Being in nature takes us back to a more primal state and connects us to the world around us. Getting out of the city and into a different, more natural environment helps us to take stock and get a different perspective.
2. I needed some time and space away from it all
Our retreats have a 'technology-free' policy, enabling us to leave everything else behind and focus on what's important in the here and now.
3. I wanted to reconnect with 'me' and what’s really important
The coaching on retreat gives you the opportunity to explore your personal values, reconnect with your identity and focus on what YOU want to, not on what everyone else is demanding from you.
4. I'm working towards a goal, or a change
Some of our participants come with a goal or change in mind that they want to work on - this could be a career or job change, taking up a new hobby, changing a relationship status or starting a new exercise regime. The coaching gives the opportunity to work towards this change in a structured and insightful way and may help to discover 'the difference that makes the difference.'
5. I want to nurture my mind, body and soul
The coaching works well to nurture your mind, pay attention to those things that need attention, sorting out problems or challenges and changing your mindset. The walking (and yoga on our Wellbeing Retreats) gives you gentle exercise for your body, blowing away some cobwebs, combined with healthy, home-cooked food (and the occasional home-made cake) to treat yourself. And for your soul - some spectacular views, fresh air, time and space away, a roaring fire and good company.

HERE'S WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE:
REBECCA KING, MARCH 2018 "Wonderful well-being weekend!!"
From start to finish the weekend welcomed, nutured and warmly fed my weary body, mind and soul! Lindsey and Cat have got a friendship and respect for each other's work which clearly brings the best out of all those who attend. I am still nuturung the benefits I experienced; " inhale peace and exhale chaos " xx
ANNE, MARCH 2018 'I really enjoyed the weekend and loved the yoga. The reiki left me feeling more relaxed than I have in ages and I am definitely sleeping better. Looking forward to meeting up again sometime.'
ALI FORSYTH, SEPT 2016 'Yoga and Bonnie Scotland! What more could you ask for?!'
What I’ve loved about the retreat is getting up and doing the yoga, even if your head thinks ‘no, I want to stay in bed’ and how rewarding it is when you see improvements – that was inspiring, really motivating and encouraging. I’ve only done a little bit of yoga before, but never consistently. Doing it twice a day has been really motivating, as you see improvements that you might not see only doing it once a week. And then the coaching, which is ridiculously powerful and so simple and easy, without being traumatic (like I’ve found counselling can sometimes be.) It’s just really smart questions to make you think. And then it’s just really nice to be together, in nature, in this beautiful place. The whole thing is a really simple, effective combination.
LIZ MAGLARAS, (TRANSCRIPT FROM VIDEO FEEDBACK) SEPT 2016
“What to say… amazing scenery, fabulous walks and very relaxing (whilst still challenging) yoga sessions. Beautiful and very comfortable accommodation with great food.  Lots of time to think about, or to discuss, anything going on in your life, without any obligation to share but lots of support if needed. The perfect way to get the headspace to wind down, review and relax – if you want time out from the rat race, this is the place to come…  oh, and fantastic flapjacks…”
